How to deal with pronunciation in French? The letters are not read as they are written - it drives me crazy! Are there exercises that really help with pronunciation?

Oh, I almost gave up at the beginning when I found out that one thing was read and another was spelled! But then I discovered the best app to learn french and in each lesson, there is a narrator who says the word and you repeat it. It saves me! I just listened at first, then practiced saying it with my voice until I started to sound at least a little bit similar. I also recorded myself on my phone and compared. First cringe, then pride! So I heartily recommend this app.
